Anna Kelso creates a textured, layered and intensely patterned aesthetic by layering hand drawn and found elements with digital methods. Her illustrations and surface-pattern designs focus on nature, wildlife and people with allusion to themes of transience and connection.

She grew up in rural Perthshire; when she wasn't day dreaming through rainy windows, she'd be climbing trees, building gang huts, or exploring abandoned crofts. This background threads its way through her practice today, incorporating folklore, social history and the transient tapestry of ever-changing light, seasons, texture and colour that surrounds us.
